Coming from the newest issue of Famitsu, a popular Japanese magazine dedicated to gaming, is the announcement of a 3DS sequel to the highly acclaimed Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime for DS.
Unlike Rocket Slime for DS, this game will be 3D which is great when paired with the stereoscopic 3D of the 3DS. The game is set on the open seas, where you can use your customizable ship for ship-to-ship battles through the single player adventure. You can also hook up with friends for 2 to 4 person multiplayer matches (not confirmed if that's local, online, or both), and there is some kind of SpotPass implementation (remember, that's hooked into the internet, not other players as in StreetPass).
I haven't played the first game, but it's something I'm still interested in picking up. I know a couple people who named it their DS game of the year for 2006, so needless to say it wasn't just journalists that loved it. If they can bring back that magic again, then this is a sure winner given the Dragon Quest branding.
